HEDONISM built the Busan Subway Map app as a free iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is used by the app, how it is used, and what choices you have.
By using Busan Subway Map, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect and Use
Busan Subway Map is designed to work primarily as a local transit and travel guide. We do not require you to create an account and we do not directly sell your personal information.
The app may use the following types of information:
Location Information
If you choose to use features such as “Where am I” or “Find nearest station,” the app may request access to your location while you are using the app.
Your location is used to:
- show your approximate position on the metro map;
- find the nearest metro, light rail, or rail station;
- help you orient yourself around Busan transit routes.
The app does not store your precise location on our servers and does not intentionally share your precise location with Google for advertising purposes. Location access is controlled by iOS and can be changed at any time in your device settings.
The online map is displayed using Apple MapKit. Apple may process map and device information according to Apple’s own privacy practices.
Advertising and Tracking
Busan Subway Map uses Google Mobile Ads / AdMob to display ads, including banner ads and rewarded or full-screen ad formats.
Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process information such as:
- IP address;
- device identifiers, including the advertising identifier when permitted;
- advertising data, such as ads shown and ad interactions;
- app interaction and performance data;
- crash logs and diagnostic information.
This information may be used for ad delivery, ad personalization where allowed, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and improving the advertising service.
On iOS, the app uses Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. When required, iOS may ask whether you allow the app to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising or measurement. If you do not allow tracking, Google Mobile Ads can still serve ads, but the IDFA is not sent in the ad request.
For users in regions where consent is required, the app uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising consent. If privacy options are required for your region, the app provides a privacy choices entry point so you can update your advertising consent.
Local App Preferences
The app may store some information locally on your device, such as:
- selected language;
- route planner preferences;
- saved settings;
- consent state;
- cached travel or eSIM plan data used to make the app faster and more reliable.
This information is stored on your device using Apple system storage such as UserDefaults or local app storage. It is used to provide app functionality and is not used by us to identify you.
Travel, Tours, eSIM, Hotels, Cars, Insurance, Shop, and External Links
The app includes travel-related screens and links, including tours, tickets, hotels, flights, car rentals, eSIM mobile data, travel insurance, travel shop, support project, transport articles, tax-free information, official transportation resources, and other travel content.
Some of these features may use third-party APIs or open third-party websites in Safari or an in-app Safari view. These third parties may collect information according to their own privacy policies when you interact with their services, make a booking, buy a product, or open their website.
Third-party services and websites that may be linked or used include, but are not limited to:
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads;
- Google User Messaging Platform;
- Apple MapKit;
- Viator;
- Yesim;
- Expedia;
- DiscoverCars;
- SafetyWing;
- EKTA Travel Insurance;
- Patreon;
- Google Trends;
- OpenWeather / Open-Meteo weather services;
- Frankfurter currency exchange rate API;
- official Busan, Korea travel, airport, bank, and transport websites;
- HEDONISM, pricesinfo.top, and way4i.com travel content websites.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, payment processing, booking terms, or data handling of third-party websites or services. Please review the privacy policy of any third-party service before providing personal information or completing a purchase.
Network and Log Data
When the app loads live data, ads, weather, travel offers, tour information, eSIM prices, or external content, third-party services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, device type, operating system version, app version, language, region, request time, and interaction data.
We may also receive or access diagnostic information indirectly through third-party SDKs or platform tools to help maintain and improve the app.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The app itself does not set browser cookies for its core offline transit features. However, third-party SDKs and websites opened from the app may use cookies, local storage, identifiers, or similar technologies for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, booking, affiliate attribution, and service functionality.
If you open external websites from the app, cookie controls are handled by Safari, the website, or the relevant third-party service.
Affiliate Links and Commercial Content
Some buttons and links in the app are affiliate or partner links. This means HEDONISM may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase, booking, subscription, or other qualifying action. This does not usually increase the price you pay.
Affiliate partners may use tracking parameters, cookies, or similar technologies to attribute purchases or bookings to the app.
Children’s Privacy
Busan Subway Map is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Data Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You can control privacy settings through your device and the app:
- Location: change access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Tracking: change permission in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Advertising consent: use the in-app Privacy Choices option when available for your region.
- External websites: review and manage privacy settings directly with each third-party service.
- App data: deleting the app removes local app data stored on the device, subject to iOS and backup behavior.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. You are advised to review this page periodically.
